"Originally recorded live in a single session December 9th 2021, YEARS OF NO LIGHT eventually got self-released right away. It represented for me at the time the single manifestation and the culminating point in a year dealing with grief, extreme frustration and its subsequent disorders. 2021 being at the same time as well quite a huge step in my own construction as a solo artist ; Earthflesh contributed that year to 10 collaborative recordings and released 11 as a solo. Two years passed and the significant impression YEARS OF NO LIGHT deserved a better treatment quite never left me until I decided to finally get at it and prepare by the same time a well-deserved and long in-the-thoughts physical edition. And the time is NOW. Finally. And I'm stoked to have the support and assistance of Gates of Hypnos in bringing such a colossus of drones and noise to the masses in its renewed, remixed and remastered form. It now precisely sounds the way I wish I had it released in 2021 ; quite the proof, in the end, it's never to late as long as you are alive." - EARTHFLESH, November 29th 2023.
